Road Safety

How to keep your self safe on the road? The safety on the roads has more than one part, and to keep yourself safe you need to follow some of the instructions that will help you to safe yours and others lives. There are a lot of studies shows that following the laws and the instructions on the roads and using the maintained vehicles will keep the people safe and prevent the accidents and death. Following the safety will save money and people. The studies show that in the entire world around 1,200,000 people die every year in car accidents. The Accidents are in 9th place in leading cause of death in the world. There are three parts of the road safety driving: road users, vehicle design and equipments and engineering measures.

First, knowledge of the road users must be good. For example millions of peoples die in poor countries because the knowledge of the drivers is poor and they haven’t trained well (WHO). The biggest cause of accidents is speeding above the road limit (Kumar).

Second, the vehicle must be designed to run on the roads safely. The fact in India shows that a small number of drivers uses safety measures or safety belts or even maintain they’re vehicle (Kumar). They have to use a check list of the equipments like Seatbelts, Adjusting mirrors, seat position, securing loose objects, not using cell phones while driving, checking the engine warning lights and checking the fuel status.

Third, engineering measures of the roads must be good for the users. The roads are built in a way that caused a lot of problems to the road users even because it is not well maintained or it is designed in wrong way. Beside these roads in India, they suffer from having less number of the traffic signals and high traffic density at the same time (Kumar).

In conclusion, the best thing to do is teaching the people about the rules of the safety driving on the roads which gives them the knowledge about how to protect their self. For example, in the United Arab Emirates, the person who applies for the driving license must learn in the driving technical institute about the rules and the vehicles.
